Guest or ai???sponsoredai??? blog posts have grown in popularity, but not very many business owners realize that unless paid links embedded in those posts are tagged ai???nofollow,ai??? they could be in violation of Google Webmaster guidlines. In a recent video, Cutts emphasized that any outbound links in ads or sponsored posts must be marked as ai???no followai??? so that they do not pass PageRank. This policy is meant to crack down on websites that rely on paid links to manipulate rankings ai??i?? but the result could be that business owners who simply donai??i??t know better are penalized.
As a general caution, Cutts advised that: 1. All paid links (both editorial posts/advertorials and site advertising) need to be marked ai???no followai??? 2.
